Your LTT
Indicative only. LTT is paid in Wales instead of Stamp Duty. First-time buyers pay the main rates (no separate relief).
How Land Transaction Tax works
Land Transaction Tax (LTT) replaced Stamp Duty in Wales in April 2018 and is collected by the Welsh Revenue Authority. Like Stamp Duty, it is charged progressively: you pay each rate only on the slice of the price that falls within each band, not on the whole amount. There is no first-time buyer relief in Wales — buyers pay the standard main rates.
